UT Southwestern Medical Center Awarded CTSA

The National Institutes of Health’s National Center for Research Resources has awarded the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center a $34-million Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) to establish the North and Central Texas Clinical and Translational Science Initiative (NCTCTSI). Fostering interdisciplinary translational research with area hospitals and institutions, the NCTCTSI will provide clinical research training and innovation in the areas of allopathic and osteopathic medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, public health, engineering, and computer science.

The participating institutions are UT Southwestern Medical School; UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences; UT Austin School of Nursing; UT Dallas School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science; UT Health Science Center at Houston’s School of Public Health; Texas Tech School of Pharmacy; Texas A&M Health Science Center’s Baylor College of Dentistry; University of North Texas Health Sciences Center; Children’s Medical Center Dallas; Parkland Memorial Hospital; UT Southwestern University Hospitals; Cooper Institute; Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas; and MedTrials, Inc. A General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) will be established at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
