Published 1/2/2007

West Virginia University (WVU) has completed construction on its $16-million Health Sciences Center Library and Center for Learning in Morgantown, West Virginia. Opening for classes in January of 2007, the facility combines library and classroom facilities in a progressive design that also accommodates lecture halls, auditoria, and a national center for Positron Emissions Tomography (PET) education.

The learning center includes a commons with a café, lounges, and spaces for individual study. WVU is also constructing the $30-million Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute (BRNI) research building and the $40-million Biomedical Science Research Facility (BMRF). Both projects will continue construction throughout 2007 with occupancy of both scheduled for June, 2008. The $25-million, 60,000-sf expansion of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center is slated to begin in early 2007.
