SUNY University Hospital Plans Vertical Pediatric Expansion

The State University of New York's University Hospital is planning a $118.9-million vertical expansion of its Syracuse facility. The project will consist of a six-story addition constructed on top of the hospital's east wing to house oncology, neurology, and cardiology services, and two floors dedicated to the the Golisano Children's Hospital of Central New York. The project architect is Karlsberger Companies with King and King Architects of Manlius as associate architect. The expansion will increase pediatric medicine space at the hospital from 18,000 sf to 87,000 sf. Construction is expected to begin in September 2006 with completion slated for 2009.
