Manpower Builds New World Headquarters

Manpower has selected Gilbane Building Company as construction manager for its new 280,000-sf world headquarters facility in downtown Milwaukee. The $50-million project includes the headquarters building, the extension of the Milwaukee RiverWalk, and a 1,260-stall, seven-story parking structure conneceted to the building via a skywalk.

The four-story headquarters building has been designed by Eppstein Uhen Architects, Inc. and engineered by Gilbane to qualify for LEED certification. Daylighting, under-floor-air-distributiion systems, reduced water usage, rercycling of materials, and providing access to public transportation are some of the energy-conscious elements in the facility. At completion, approximately 900 employees will move into the site, with as many as 300 more added in the next five years. Manpower provides employment services.
