Published 3/27/2006

The University of Toronto Scarborough broke ground on a new interdisciplinary science building on March 28, 2006. Designed by Moriyama & Teshima Architects in association with Watson MacEwen Architects, the facility will provide space for dynamic collaboration in research and teaching in the environmental, physical, and life sciences. Slated to open in spring 2008, the building will house a 250-seat lecture theater; 16 laboratories and associated support areas; faculty offices; work space for research assistants, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students; shared common spaces; meeting rooms; and lounges. The design will feature floor-specific themes including environmental chemistry, plant and microbial biology, and other life sciences.
