Published 12/28/2006

UC Davis opened its new Education Building and the F. William Blaisdell Medical Library on the school's Sacramento campus on December 11, 2006. The $46-million, four-story structure replaces classrooms and offices in Davis and unites the medical school's educational facilities on a single campus. The facility features two 150-seat lecture halls, 60- and 30-seat technology-rich classrooms, the medical library, a clinical skills center, multiple 12- and 16-seat teaching rooms, videoconferencing and distance learning capabilities, and a student commons with a lounge, study areas, and a cafe. Classes will commence in the new building in January of 2007.
