Published 10/31/2006

St. John's Mercy Heart Hospital opened the doors of its new $140 million cardiovascular facility in Creve Coeur, Mo., in late fall of 2006. The 96-bed, 350,000-sf hospital combines all heart-related services under one roof. Universal patient rooms are fully equipped to handle intensive care patients and are designed to comfortably accommodate overnight stays for family members. The project architect was Christner, Inc. of St. Louis with Northstar Management Co. as program manager. The facility was constructed by McCarthy, who was also the project contractor for the vertical expansion of the 153,000-sf Women's and Children's Health Center built atop the adjacent main hospital patient tower at St. John's Mercy.
