Anderson Hospital Breaks Ground on Outpatient Cancer Center

Anderson Hospital broke ground on Sept. 29, 2006 on the 20,000-sf Comprehensive Cancer Care Center in Maryville, Ill. The $4.6 million outpatient center will include physician oncology services for both chemotherapy and radiation oncology, sub-specialty physician services, a patient resource center and library, support services including social workers and dietitians who specialize in working with oncology patients, as well as a retail space dedicated to the needs of cancer patients.  In addition, the Center will include a comprehensive Breast Care Center. The Center will provide not only routine mammography, but also stereotactic breast biopsy and ultrasound-guided biopsy services with a radiologist on site.
