Published 10/26/2006

Adventist Health is planning a $60-million expansion and renovation of its 242-bed St. Helena Hospital in California's Napa Valley. The first $30-million phase of the project will include development of a 25,000-sf Outpatient Services Pavilion, comprised of a 12,500-sf cancer center and an 11,000-sf expanded outpatient surgery center. The Family Birth Center will be relocated and expanded from 3,400 sf to 6,800 sf. A cardiovascular and peripheral vascular lab will also be constructed. Construction is slated to begin in spring of 2007 and reach completion in 2008, with the total completion of phase one expected by year-end 2009. Adventist plans to rebuild the hospital completely by the year 2030 by replacing the main hospital facility and constructing new buildings including The Center for Health, medical offices, a hospital services building, and a parking structure.
