U.S. Army Builds Anechoic Chamber at White Sands

The U.S. Army has awarded Hensel Phelps Construction Co. the $31-million contract to construct a new anechoic chamber at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. The project, known as the Electromagnetic Vulnerability Assessment Facility, will be isolated from external sounds or electromagnetic radiation. Slated for completion in July of 2008, the chamber will replace one destroyed by fire in 2002.
