Cal State Sacramento Completes Academic Information Resource Center

California State University, Sacramento has completed the $17.3-million Academic Information Resource Center. Designed by Dreyfus + Blackford Architects of Sacramento and built by McCarthy , the facility will serve as the university's technology hub, providing student service facilities including: interactive learning labs, 24-hour student computer labs, video studios and classrooms, study areas, and distance learning facilities. The 100,000-sf, four-story building will also serve as the main data center and telecom switch, and will contain departmental offices. Featuring raised access floors throughout, the building provides flexibility for future space modifications. The access floor also doubles as a fresh air supply plenum.
