UC Riverside Plans Genomics Building

Published 8/9/2004

The University of California Riverside has selected Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott (SBRA) of Riverside to design its new Genomics building. The 110,000-sf building will provide the University’s Genomics Institute with state-of-the-art research laboratories for its faculty, researchers, and support staff. SBRA is designing the $34.4-million project in association with RBB Architects of Los Angeles . Laboratory design services are provided by Research Facilities Design of San Diego. Sited on approximately 1.7 acres, within the science precinct of the campus, the building is slated for completion in spring of 2008. Housing collaborative research and learning, the facility will maximize space that supports high level research and maintains flexibility for future space and technological needs.
