Otterbein College Renovates Westerville Facilities

Otterbein College is engaged in $5.75 million in planned or ongoing construction projects at its Westerville , Ohio campus. Project currently under way include

  • A $750,000, 5,300-sf expansion of Courtright Memorial Library housing three new classrooms and an internet café, slated for completion by September 13, 2004 .
  • A $1.4 million renovation of Cowan Hall theater, slated for completion in January 2005.
  • A $500,000 project to improve two floors of student residence Mayne Hall, slated for completion in September of 2004.
  • The construction of a 156-space, $400,000 parking lot.
  • The demolition of the Memorial Stadium after October 16, 2004 , and the construction of a $2.7 million, 2,400-seat stadium with training and locker rooms, a meeting room, and a press box.

Planned projects include a renovation and expansion of the Schear-McFadden Science Hall, (estimated to cost between $15 million and $20 million) and the construction of an adjacent linked laboratory facility. The project architect for the Cowan Hall theater, library, and Mayne Hall projects is Maddox NBD of Dublin . The acoustical consultant for the theater is Kirkegaard Associates of Chicago .
