Tenet HealthSystems Constructs Centennial Medical Center

Published 7/1/2003

Tenet HealthSystems is constructing the $125-million Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Texas. Designed by RTKL, the 298,000-sf, 186-bed acute care hospital is a prototype hospital which will unveil the new “TenetCare” concept focused on providing superior levels of service to patients, physicians, and staff. In the hospital, functional adjacencies are of paramount importance, with operating rooms located next to intensive care, emergency next to imaging, and administration next to the physician lounge.

The adjacent four-story medical office building includes a 12,500-sf day surgery suite located on the ground floor, which houses four operating rooms and two special procedure rooms. Amenities include a comfortable lobby and lounge area, privacy lockers and spacious recovery bays. The block layout makes expansion of the facility easy to accomplish. The general contractor is Robbins & Morton, based in Birmingham, Alabama; Caffey Engineering and Brockette Davis and Drake are responsible for the engineering of the project.
