Published 2/6/2003

The Memphis Biotech Foundation has selected Memphis firms Hnedak Bobo Group (HBG) as program manager and TRO/The Ritchie Organization as lead architect/engineer/interior designer for the first phase of the University of Tennessee/Baptist Research Park in Memphis. The six-story, 165,000-sf facility will support biotechnology research activities for multiple tenants, and will be the initial building of a multi-phase 1.2-million-sf research campus. The Phase I biotechnology research facility will be built in front of Baptist Medical Center in the Memphis medical district. Upon completion, the Baptist Medical Center building will be demolished to accommodate future phases of the research park.  The project team includes Boston firms Ellenzweig Associates and Bard, Rao, + Athanas (BR+A), and Health, Education + Research Associates (HERA) of St. Louis.
