Applied Biosystems Completes First Phase of Biotech Campus

Applied Biosystems has completed the first phase of its planned 960,000-sf, 80-acre campus in Pleasanton, Calif. Two of the seven buildings have been completed, providing 258,000-sf of lab and office space. A two-story building accommodates offices, cleanrooms, and research laboratories with custom-designed and fabricated chemical distribution systems. A three-story building, including a full basement with an expandable central utility plant, will house offices, laboratories, a data center, a fitness center, and a cafeteria upon completion. The LEED-certified facilities feature high-performance glass and aluminum skins and radius metal roof screens. The project contractor is Devcon Construction.
