Delaware Valley College Creates Biotechnology Research Complex

Published 1/16/2003

Delaware Valley College is partnering with the Hepatitis B Foundation to create a new biotechnology research complex on the college's Doylestown campus. The project, slated to open in fall 2004, will encompass two developments. A 28,000-sf addition to the Mandell Science Building will be converted to house the college's expanding agricultural biotechnology program, providing space for teaching labs, animal care, faculty offices, and instructional space. The second 27,500-sf complex will include biotech research labs as well as instructional, office and conference space shared by Delaware Valley College, the Hepatitis B Foundation, the Jefferson Center, and other non-profit research groups. Space in the research complex will be available for lease to emerging biotech and high-tech companies.
