NFL Films's new 200,000-sf headquarters and production facility will initiate its first year of service with the 2002 football season. Designed by Russ Berger Design Group of Dallas and Garrison Architects of Bala Cynwyd, the project team also included the Philadelphia office of The Staubach Company as development manager and construction manager W.S. Cumby & Son of Swarthmore. The facility includes 40 technical rooms with individual music recording studios, a film processing lab, central machine rooms for electronics support, underground wiring, and a satellite farm. All creative, production, and post-production resources are housed in the new headquarters, which includes a state-of-the-art sound studio, mix room, video division control room, and a connector bridge to the technical facility. A redundant, uniterruptible technical power system supports the entire facility. For acoustical isolation and attenuation, each room was built as a separate acoustically decoupled unit within the larger facility.
