Aircuity Building Performance Evaluation System Wins R&D Award

Published 9/26/2002

Aircuity, a Newton, Mass.-based manufacturer of intelligent building performance tools, was recently awarded an R&D 100 award for the Aircuity Building Performance Evaluation System. The automated monitoring system collects and interprets indoor air quality information via a user-friendly portable monitor and a secure Web-based data management system. A diagnostic program analyzes and interprets air quality data, delivering comprehensive reports on building performance. The monitor provides continuous sampling of temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, airborne particles, radon, ozone, total volatile organic compounds, and will automatically collect samples for mold/pollen reporting. The R&D award is jointly shared with Environmental Health and Engineering, also of Newton, who provided much of the expert knowledge incorporated into the system.
