Published 8/13/2002

The University of Memphis renovation of Wilder Tower is slated for completion in late August 2002. The building, designed by a joint venture of Allen and Hoshall and WPA, will house centralized student services including registration, financial aid and counseling. General contractor for the $12-million project is Jameson and Gibson. The former library facility will be occupied in phases throughout winter of 2002-2003. A $24-million renovation of the Student Activities Complex Plaza is also under way. Designed by Jackson Person and built by Mock Construction, the plaza features seating areas, mall development, and a central fountain.

The University is also planning a $3,650,000, 88-bed student housing addition comprised of two townhouses and one apartment building.
