Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, has awarded the Columbus office of Turner Construction Company the contract to build a new $47 million Heart Hospital. Construction is scheduled for completion in February 2004. Turner is the general contractor. This project is a joint venture between Turner Construction Company and Elford Construction of Columbus. The new facility will be three stories tall with a basement. The first floor will contain an emergency facility with 95 patient exam rooms, health education and public spaces, and heart disease management areas. The second floor will have 14 heart catheterization suites, electrophysiology labs, and 85 pre- and post-procedural patient care spaces. The third floor will contain in-patient rooms. The building has been designed to accommodate future vertical expansion of up to five additional floors.

Turner is also serving as general contractor on a $13 million, four-level, 1,150-car, cast-in-place concrete parking garage adjacent to the new facility, located on the campus of Riverside Methodist Hospital.
