Sharp Health Care Initiates Modernization Program

Sharp Health Care has selected Gilbane Building Company to manage a $101 million modernization program including new construction and renovations to existing buildings on the Sharp Memorial Hospital campus in San Diego. This multi-phased project includes the construction of a new seven-story, 272-bed patient tower that includes approximately 112 AC beds, 112 IMCU beds, 24 SICU beds, and 24 ICU beds; 10 operating rooms and surgery; a new hospital entrance and lobby; and administrative space. Included in the project are renovations to the existing emergency room area, central plant upgrades, major infrastructure improvements and upgrades to administrative spaces. Gilbane's western regional operations are based in San Francisco.
