Indiana Heart Hospital Breaks Ground

Published 8/27/2001

The Indiana Heart Hospital has awarded RTKL Associates Inc. the design contract for its 200,000-sf freestanding facility in Indianapolis. The specialty-care hospital will offer heart services ranging from wellness screenings to open heart surgery. The 96-bed, $40 million structure, which broke ground in June, is expected to open in late 2002. The structure will house a full service hospital, offering emergency heart care, outpatient diagnostic and testing services, as well as surgery, imaging, surgical recovery and intensive care services. The project will also include a four-story, 45,000-sf medical office building attached to the hospital.

BSA Design of Indianapolis serves as the affiliate architect and is providing engineering services for the project. Summit Construction Company of Indianapolis is the general contractor, with EQ International as medical planning consultant.
