Published 11/27/2001

Crozer-Keystone Health Systems is expanding three Delaware County hospitals over the next three years as part of a $47 million construction and renovation project. At Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland a 32,000-sf emergency department expansion will triple existing emergency facilities, which include the only Level II trauma center in Delaware County. The new facilities will house 41 treatment rooms featuring a minor ailment fast-track area and a pediatric waiting room. A 450-car parking garage will be built, and the long-term-care Chester Care Center located across the street from Crozer-Chester will also be acquired and renovated. In Drexel Hill, Delaware County Memorial Hospital's emergency department will expand with a 10,000-sf addition, a 14-bed critical care unit and lobby renovation. A new parking garage will be constructed at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park.
