
As the University Architect at Carnegie Mellon University, Bob oversees the planning and design of the Pittsburgh campus and implements the university’s 2022 Institutional Master Plan. During his 19 years at the university, he has completed two campus master plans and led the design of major campus projects. Projects completed under his guidance include the Gates and Hillman Centers, Scott Hall, the Tepper School of Business, two new student residences and the recently completed Highmark Center for Health, Wellness & Athletics. Bob is currently managing the design and construction of the new Richard King Mellon Hall of Sciences. He is a member of the university’s Design Review Committee and the Universal Access Committees and has guided the development of the university’s global sites in Silicon Valley and Rwanda. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon, Bob was the Zoning Administrator for Pittsburgh City Planning and managed Development Review and Historic Preservation. Bob received his Masters of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Texas and his Bachelors of Arts in Urban Planning from the University of Minnesota.
