Barbara has a master’s degree in healthcare leadership and has over 35 years’ experience in healthcare and research and is currently the Director, Research Facilities at Augusta University.  With extensive experience in research administration and laboratory management, Barbara plays a pivotal role at AU, collaborating with faculty, staff, central research administration, and partner offices. Barbara's multifaceted responsibilities encompass research space assessment and assignment.  Her comprehensive oversight includes the implementation and data management of the research space module, which is crucial for accurate tracking of space allocation, principal investigator (PI) grant dollars, and research lab space square footage. This role involves maintaining all pertinent user data and Federal and Administrative rates for the entire University, ensuring compliance with institutional regulations and standards.

Barbara’s strategic vision and operational expertise make her an invaluable asset to AU's research community. She is committed to fostering an environment of excellence in research by facilitating seamless operations, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with federal and institutional guidelines.
